Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.

Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across different parts of both states.
