The Details Known Concerning the Fatalities of the Bondi Beach Terrorist Incident

No fewer than 16 individuals perished and in excess of 40 were wounded when gunmen shot at a Hanukah celebration at Bondi Beach, an attack Australian authorities have labeled a act of terrorism.

In the latest update, officials have announced the death toll remains at 16, including one of the suspected gunmen. Furthermore, 42 people with injuries were admitted to medical facilities.

“How can a happy rabbi who went to a beach to spread happiness and light, to make the world a better place, meet his end in this way?” a family member remarked.

Schlanger and his wife had recently celebrated the arrival of their newest son in October.

Alexander Kleytman

Alexander Kleytman also lost his life, as stated by his wife.

She described the events before the attack, saying they had been standing together when the shooting began. “He moved to protect me because he wished to be near me,” she stated.

The husband and wife were both Holocaust survivors, having experienced immense hardship in their childhood. They had later relocated to Australia from Eastern Europe.

Dan Elkayam

French foreign ministry have confirmed that French national Dan Elkayam is among the dead.

In a statement, a senior official declared that France shared the grief of his family and loved ones, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.

“This cowardly attack is a fresh and tragic example of a disgusting rise of hatred against Jews that we must combat,” the statement continued.

One Child

A young girl, aged 10 who was taken to the a children's hospital succumbed to her injuries, authorities stated.

One Israeli Citizen

One victim from Israel was among those killed in the incident, according to reports citing the Israeli government.

Those Injured

Of the 42 people taken to hospitals, many are still under care, with five in critical condition. The injured comprise two officers who attended the scene.

A casualty is a member of the public who attempted to intervene to confront one of the attackers. Described as a local hero, he sustained bullet wounds but is in stable condition in hospital.

Arsen Ostrovsky

Among the injured is Arsen Ostrovsky, a public affairs professional. Sources state he was wounded and underwent treatment in hospital.

In a message, he described the scene as an “absolute bloodbath,” but also praised the actions of those who came to assist. He said he believed it was a “stroke of luck” he survived.

Evan Zlatkis

Evan Zlatkis, a media director, was another casualty in the attack. He described he heard “dozens and dozens” of shots.

“Initially, I believed it was something less lethal, but it penetrated my own skin and into my leg,” he said. “I’ve been shot myself. I received first aid. I’m ok.”
