Salah Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team after the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match after making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
