Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won England's top flight in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who adore the manager would welcome the possibility of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he told his interviewer: “I declared I refuse to lead another team in England. So that means in case it's my former club...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances must arise to bring him back to the dugout, he revealed he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be under bad weather for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, I appreciate that. Success was frequent thus frequently positive atmosphere at the club. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, crediting him due to the changes that won the league last campaign. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the idea of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, a player he signed while in charge, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a road accident with his brother in July.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the team environment absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A profound tragedy for all the boys as well. Not a single person will ever use it for poor performances though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Coping with it on a personal level is difficult. Unbearable.”
