Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
