It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
