Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret group.
The questline focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an special katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
